Continuing Students
Registration is structured with a 2-pass process. Check the Calendar to determine the dates of each registration period. Once your enrollment has opened in each pass you will continue to have access to enrollment through Growl until the end of that registration period.
Continuing Student registration 1st Pass) is structured with staggered enrollment appointments based on priority designation or units earned (see Registration Period Assignments for more details). During this time, undergraduate students may enroll in up to 16 units.
Enrollment makeup (2nd Pass) is structured with similar staggered enrollment appointments over the first two days. All undergraduates will have their maximum unit load lifted prior to the 2nd pass based on college maximums and academic standing rules.
You will receive information about your specific appointment time at Growl.
You must satisfy any advising requirements prior to enrolling. See Enrollment Instructions.
Hours
Growl is available from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Growl may also be accessed on weekends, but hours vary depending on student information system availability and maintenance needs.
Please be aware that on Monday, September 16th, Growl will close at 9 p.m. Please plan accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.
New Undergraduate Students
The Office of the Registrar provides enrollment information to new undergraduates who have returned their positive Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). Enrollment materials include appointment periods to enroll for classes on Growl during the enrollment period (see Calendar). See the Enrollment instructions for enrollment procedures. New undergraduates who fail to pay fees by the last day to pay fees listed in the Calendar, will lose all courses in which they are enrolled and will be assessed a late payment fee of $50.
New Graduate Students
New graduate students are urged to contact their academic department for information concerning their initial enrollment. Newly admitted graduate students will receive appointment periods to enroll on Growl during the enrollment period listed in the Calendar.
Readmitted Students
Readmitted students are assigned a registration pin appointment that falls within the Continuing Student registration period for winter and spring registration. Log into Growl to view the assigned appointment time. For fall registration, please see the "New and readmitted student" registration dates on the Academic Calendar.
Students with Disabilities
If you are unable to use Growl, please contact Services for Students with Disabilities for assistance.
Registration Period Assignments
At UCR, the following students receive priority registration appointment periods:
Chancellor's Scholars
Disabled students
Foster Youth
Graduate students
Regents Scholars
Student Athletes/Team Managers
University Honors Program students
Veteran/Service Members
Appointment periods for all other students are determined by a student's number of earned units—highest number to lowest number. Thus a senior with 172 earned units will receive an earlier appointment period than a senior with 145 earned units.
Appointment periods are used for Continuing Student Registration (1st Pass) and enrollment makeup (2nd Pass).
Students with pending transfer units should be aware that these units will not be calculated toward their UCR unit total until official transcripts from each school attended have been received and reviewed by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. |
