Adding and Dropping Courses

Students may add and drop courses on Growl through the end of the second week of instruction. All changes after the second week of instruction are completed with an Enrollment Adjustment Form.

Undergraduate students may access the online Enrollment Adjustment Form at MyForms.ucr.edu starting at noon on Friday of the 2nd week of instruction. Graduate students can retrieve a paper Enrollment Adjustment Form from the Graduate School or your department starting Friday of the 2nd week of instruction. Please see the links below for detailed instructions.

Students do not need the instructor's signature to drop a course (through second week online) or withdraw from a course (third through sixth week). An advisor's signature is needed to withdraw from a course.

Class listings in this schedule identify courses with mandatory attendance policies, which may include automatically dropping students for nonattendance or requiring students to drop the course themselves. Contact the academic department involved for more information about policies affecting specific courses.

Withdrawing from a Course

Students have until the end of the sixth week of instruction to withdraw from a course. A "W" appears on the transcript, signifying withdrawal.

Special note regarding courses that require a Course Materials and Services Fee: Based upon the need of academic departments to purchase the supplies, materials, and services necessary to maintain instructional quality in advance of actual instruction, the Course Materials and Services Fee associated with the course a student is enrolled in is non-refundable after the 1st day of instruction.

Satisfactory/No Credit Grading

Students may change the grading basis of a course through the eighth week of instruction. Changes in grading basis can be submitted via an Enrollment Adjustment Form from the third through eighth week.
